The pull is even in ten...I've fired all three. The pull is even in tension on a recurve, and I do appreciate their simplicity and how easy they are to re-string. A compound has a tension that lessons as you reach the maximum pull, and you're able to get more power. I can pull a 25-30lb recurve, but can pull a 70lb compound. That's huge when it comes to distance and stopping power. Because the tension isn't as high at the maximum pull, the compound is easier to site - you're not struggling to hold it steady with quivering arms. Crossbows rock, but I've had to actually brace them with my feet and use leg muscles to string them - they can be that hard. Because let's face it, if you miss that first shot (or if there's more than one bloodsucker about), you just aren't going to be able to load that crossbow in time for another shot.<br /><br />This same principle works for a zombies or post-apocalypse raiders.
